Rest
7-5-26 Hoonah-Hadley Matthew 11:16-19,25-30 Call to Worship Psalm 145:8-15 Daily Verse’s Matthew 11:28-30 Rest “Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” We live in a world that is determined to interrupt our rest, our peace. Maybe it is bent on having us look in all the wrong places

Wanted Dead or Alive
6-28-26 Hoonah-Hadley Romans 6:12-23 Call to Worship Psalm 89:1-4, 15-18 Daily Verse Romans 6:23 Wanted, Dead or Alive “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” At first glance the title may be clever, catchy, tongue in cheek, but in truth, there is one who wants us dead, and One who wants us alive. One is a wage we pay that costs us our life, the other is a free gift to eternal life. The one we pay, the other one God paid.

Lose Your Life
6-21-26 Hoonah-Hadley Matthew 10:24-39 Call to Worship Psalm 86:1-10, 16-17 Daily Verse Matthew 10:39 Lose Your Life (Lose it or Lose it) “Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for My sake will find it.” Life is a searching. Typically, here in America, probably most of the world, kids grow up in some form of educational system, graduate from that, go on to more education or employment, sometimes change direction, go here, there, do this and

Compassion
6-14-26 Hoonah-Hadley Matthew 9:35-10:8 Call to Worship Psalm 100 Daily Verse Matthew 9:36 Compassion “But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.” (NKJV) The NIV reads “…they were harassed and helpless.” Other versions use “fainting”, “troubled”, “problems”. They were lost, broken, sick, hopeless. Jesus went, He saw, and He was moved. Compassion is seeing a need, feeling it and d

Your Faith Has Made You Well
6-7-26 Hoonah-Hadley Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26 Call to Worship Psalm 33:1-12 Daily Verse Matthew 9:22 Your Faith Has Made You Well “But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her, He said, ‘Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.’” It has long since occurred to me that God’s word is for all people regardless of time, geographical location or race. When you fill out an application that ask what your “race” is, it seems the “human” race is the correct response. Ther

Go Therefore And Make Disciples
5-31-26 Hoonah-Hadley Matthew 28:16-20 Call to Worship Psalm 8 Daily Verse Matthew 28:19 Go Therefore And Make Disciples “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” As God’s elect, His chosen, called, we would do well to visit His plan and purpose for our lives at least occasionally. To remind ourselves what it is we’re doing, why we are doing it and how we are getting along with it.

He Called Us Out Of Darkness
5-3-26 Hoonah-Hadley 1 Peter 2:1-10 Call to Worship Psalm 31:1-5, 15-16 Daily Verse 1 Peter 2:9 He Called Us Out Of Darkness “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” Can we start off with an Amen? A hard-fought hallelujah? Is it too soon for a praise break? We simply cannot read God’s word and not be overwhelmed by its power

Discipline Yourselves, Keep Alert
5-17-26 Hoonah-Hadley 1 Peter 4:12-14; 5:6-11 Call to Worship Psalm 68:1-10, 33-36 Daily Verse 1 Peter 5:8 NRSV Discipline Yourselves, Keep Alert 8 “Discipline yourselves; keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour.” As is standard, God’s word is living and active, sharper than any double edge sword, dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is powerful, purposeful, diligent, determined and will fulfill the p

Him I Proclaim To You
5-10-26 Hoonah-Hadley Acts 17:22-31 Call to Worship Psalm 66:7-18 Daily Verse Acts 17:23 Him I Proclaim To You “For as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the one whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you.” In a sense we pick up where Alex left off on April 26th. He began the service with prayer and a couple songs, “I’m doing kingdom things” and “I have a
