S.O.S. December Newsletter

Updated: Dec 6, 2025

A Month of Gratitude and Giving

As we enter the season of thankfulness, our church family has been blessed with opportunities to serve, gather, and share God’s love in meaningful ways. November has been a month filled with community, generosity, and the warmth of fellowship.

First Annual Thanksgiving Feast

This month marked our First Annual Thanksgiving Feast, and what a joyful success it was! We welcomed 44 people from our church and local community for a wonderful evening of food, fellowship, and gratitude. The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and the spirit of unity. Thank you to everyone who cooked, decorated, served, and shared in this beautiful gathering. We look forward to making this a cherished annual tradition.

Good Shepherd Food Pantry Donations

Our partnership with the Good Shepherd Food Pantry continues to make a difference. Thanks to your ongoing generosity, we’ve been able to provide consistent food donations to help families facing difficult seasons, especially considering the effect the government shutdown had on SNAP and EBT this month. Your contributions—whether canned goods, boxed meals, or other essentials—are a tangible expression of Christ’s love in action. Let’s keep this momentum going as the winter months approach. Food donations can be dropped off in the bins in the Church, December’s requested donation items are: Soups & Stews, Pasta & Pasta Sauce, Crackers, Mac & Cheese, Christmas Candy, Kid Friendly Cereal, Cake Mixes & Cake Frosting, and Canned Tuna or Chicken.

Toys for Tots Contribution

This month, our church family joyfully participated in the Toys for Tots program. Your toy donations will help bring Christmas joy to children who might otherwise go without. Thank you for giving generously and for being a shining example of compassion and kindness.

Hats, Gloves, and Scarves Drive

As cold weather settles in, our church is continuing its donation drive for hats, gloves, and scarves to support children in need. New winter items can be dropped off in the collection bins located in the church. Your donations will help keep kids warm and cared for during the winter season. Every contribution matters—thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Salvation Army Kettle Volunteers

We were recently contacted by Cynthia from the Salvation Army, who is seeking volunteers to help tend kettles as bell ringers this holiday season. If you feel led to serve, the sign-up information and details are posted on the bulletin board in the church. Even a short shift can make a meaningful difference for families in need.

Looking Ahead

As we move into December, let us carry forward the spirit of gratitude and giving. Thank you for your faithful service, your generosity, and your heart for our community. May God bless each of you richly in the coming weeks.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1
